In this, the contrast between the bird and the light colored house, the way the static progress of the houses across the image echo the bird's flight across the water, the congruence between the angles made by the bird's wings and the planes of the roof of the house, the palm trees tapering to nothing in the sky, the passage of the bird's reflection across the rooftops; a delight for the eye, a matrix of formal relations leading to a vision of other things.
